Revegetation Results and Data Analysis
A summary of the final data collected for cover and production for 2005 and 2006 is shown
below in Table D.
Table D
Pro d t'
Year and area sampled % Cover
2005 date
I rrigated _pastu reland i
(Ibslacre?
As measured on Reference Area 36.5 2018
90% of reference area value 32.8 1816
As measured on Reclaimed Area 39.9 1822

C Rangeland _
As measured on Reference Area 19.7 356
90% of reference area value 17.7 321
As measured on Reclaimed Area 28.0 1177

2006 data
Irrigated pastureland
As measured on Reference Area
19.5 333
90% of reference area value 17.6 300
As measured on Reclaimed Area 20.9 496
Rangeland

As measured on Reference Area
_
12.8 31
90% of reference area value 11.5 28

As measured on Reclaimed Area
14.5 uc
on
218
Referring to Table D, in each case, for the vegetation to be deemed successful with regard
to cover and production, the value highlighted in yellow must be larger than the value
immediately above it highlighted in pink. In 2005, vegetative cover on the pastureland
reclaimed area (39.9%) exceeded the 901" percentile of the cover on the pastureland
reference area (32.8%). The reclaimed rangeland cover (28.0%) far exceeded the 90`h
percentile cover on the rangeland reference area (17.7%). For production data collected in
2005 on the irrigated pastureland, the reclaimed area sample mean (1822 Ibs/acre)
exceeded 90% of the irrigated pastureland reference area sample mean (1816 Ibs/acre).
For production data collected in 2005 on the reclaimed rangeland, the sample mean (1177
Ibs/acre) far exceeded 90% of the rangeland reference area sample mean (321 Ibs/acre).
The species diversity standard was achieved in the 2005 reclaimed rangeland as
documented in Table A-6 of the application/bond release report. Contributing cool season
grasses were smooth brome, western wheatgrass and slender wheatgrass. Warm season
grasses were blue grama and sideoats grama. The forb was alfalfa.
