NECC is proposing
to relocate the Vertical Turbine pump system planned to recover water from the New Elk
underground mine workings for slurry injection (TR-34) and mine dewatering (TR-49).
The planned location shown on Map 11 is already disturbed. The installation of the pumps has
already been approved and bonded by TR-34, only the location is being changed by this revision.
Only one vertical turbine pump is planned at this time. Two boreholes into the mine will be
drilled while a rig is available and on-site. A second back-up pump may be set at a later date. A
drill rig is expected to become available as CBM drilling terminates on the DOW field in
September.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Si cerely
Ronald Thompson
Agent
Enclosures:
Application Form
Table 19 Surface Facilities List
Map 11 Surface Facilities and Roads East Portal
