9. Please revise the text on page 2.05-34 of Volume I to make it clear that there will
be a pump permanently installed at each of ponds A, D and E.
10. As shown on the Map 15 series, there are several ditches and culverts that run
perpendicular into other ditches or culverts. Please consider more gentle
intersection angles for ditches and culverts.
11. As shown on Map 15-1 of Volume Il, upland diversion culvert C-U1 makes a
sharp right turn at the southern end of the portal area. In addition, culvert C-U 1 is
a very long culvert that, apparently, has no cleanout access points. Please consider
redesigning culvert C-U1 to accommodate more uniform flow and easier
cleanout. Also, will culvert C-U1 be a metal culvert or a plastic culvert? Since the
raw coal stockpile will cover culvert C-U1, there is the possibility that the heat
from the coal could melt a plastic culvert, as had occurred at another mine.
12. Please add notations on Map 15-1 through Map 15-6 that indicate the locations of
the cross sections that are referenced on the maps.
13. On several of the Map 15 series maps, there are solid black lines without arrows
running along the main haul road. Should these lines be removed from the maps?
If the lines represent something, proper notation should be put into the legend.
cc: Sandy Brown
c:/word/redcliff/appmemo 1
4
