M-2008-037; Clear Creek County; Adequacy Review 01 ci
Dear Mr. McHale:
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, & Safety (Division) has completed the first adequacy review
for the above referenced 110 mining application. Following the receipt of your request for extension
received August 20, 2008, a tentative decision date has been set for August 27, 2008. The date may
change if all adequacy issues have not been addressed at that time. As a result of this first adequacy
review, we need the following items or clarifications before a decision can be made on the
application.
Rule 6.3.1 Exhibit A - Legal Description and Location M D
1) The main entrance to the mine is not specifically indicated on Exhibit A. In accordance with
Rules. 6.3.1(2) and 6.3.1(3), please indicate where the main entrance to the mine will be
located, and show the primary access route from the nearest maintained public road.
2) There appears to be a small parcel of land immediately south-southeast of the shaft and
within the 200-foot radius that is not on patented ground and for which the ownership is not
indicated (please see shaded area on attached map). In accordance with Rule 6.3.1(3), please
provide the name of the owner(s) of this parcel of ground or indicate where in the
application the information can be found.
Rule 6.3.3 Exhibit C - Mining Plan
1) Applicant states that mining will commence around Sept. 1, 2008. In accordance with Rule
6.3.3(1)(a), please provide your best estimate of when mining will end.
2) Applicant states that all material removed from the mine will be removed from the site for
offsite processing. Does this also include sub-ore grade and waste rock as well? In the event
that access to the ore grade material requires removal of waste rock, will the material be
removed offsite with the ore?
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Office
Denver Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines
