MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: _ tut-1277-436
INSPECTION DATE: 7/92/2)08 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: JLE-
OBSERVATIONS
On July 29`x', 2008, 1 Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Salety conducted a
normal monitoring inspection of the Brighton Mine; permit number M-1977-436. 'this site is located two miles
south of Brighton, CO in Adams County. Mrs. Connie Davis and Mr. Matt Hall of Aggregate Industries
accompanied me on the inspection.
The proper mine identification sign was in place and the permit boundary appeared to be delineated.
'['he permitted area for this site is 287 acres. "Che post mine land use for this site is designated as Recreational
and Water Storage. Through the mining process, Aggregate Industries is constructing three lakes. The North
Lake, is unlined and is being tilled with wash fines from the processing facility located on the site. In the
future, this area is supposed to become a wetland. Mining appears to be confined in the southern half of the
mine site where the central and south lakes will be located. The pit slopes are in the process of being
constructed at this time. The slurry wall for the two southern reservoirs has been installed and the pit is actively
being dewatered.
'Che river bank protection appears to be in place and established. A-oregatc Industries is required to construct
three spillways for the three lake areas for flood control purposes. Upon the inspection these spillways did not
appear to have been constructed. Mr. Hall stated that the spillway for the southern reservoir has been
constructed and \% as since buried for later use.
Overall, 111llllllg appears to be progressing according to the approved mine plan

f? i??urc:
Figure 2.)
