BOX 1665 Division Director
Craig, CO 81626 Natural Resource Trustee
Re: Lyster Pit, Permit Application No. M - 2008 - 009, Final Reclamation Cost Estimate. -.--
Dear Mr. Baker:
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety has calculated the bond estimate for the above referenced
permit application. Staff has calculated the initial reclamation liability for the proposed mine using
information within the application and information submitted by 3B Enterprises. The estimate is based on
what it would cost the state to hire a contractor to reclaim the site if the bond was forfeited and not
necessarily what it would cost Black Lyster Oil Company to complete the work.
Staff's estimate for the proposed reclamation of the site is $63,165.00, rounded off to $63,000.00. This
estimate is base on immediate reclamation of all proposed pond shoreline. If any high walls are observed
during future inspections the bond will be adjusted to include pit dewatering. The bond is only calculated for
the 30 acres of Phase 1. The operator must notify the Division prior to the commencement of mining in
Phase II to account for the additional disturbance. Please review the estimate carefully. Should there be any
questions or corrections contact staff immediately.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no.
970.241.2042.
Sincerely,
Travis Marshall
Environmental Protection Specialist, Grand Junction Field Office
Enclosure(s)
STATE OF COLORADO
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
