The maximum acres to be affected at any,
given time are 40, that includes major and minor disturbances.
3) Present during the inspection was Mr. Joe Gagliano, the operator's representative-
4) Permit sign was properly posted at the access to the property. The inspection
focused on the area that is presently affected which was approximately 10 acres..
5) The site was active at the time of the inspection. The deposit is a very thick sand
alluvium deposit exceeding approximately 70 feet.
6) Site was active at the time of the inspection. Operation consists of a screen and
front end loader.
7) At the time of the inspection, the county was hauling material from the site.
8) Operation has a maximum length of high wall that can be exposed at any given time,
which is 1430 feet. At the time of the inspection, approximately 850 feet of high
wall was being worked along the SW AND NE EXTENSION. Some of the high walls
appeared to be a bit steeper than would be considered safe to operate with depths
ranging from 10 feet to 18 feet approximately. Operator was asked to cut the slopes
of these high walls to at least an average of 2:1. No major slope failures were
noted. However there was some minor sloughing noted. Given the sandy soil nature of
the material, it is to be expected. However, operator's representative agreed for
safety of an individuals who works on the site, sometime work alone, would recommend
to the operator to cut the slope to a gentler angle.
9) At present approximately 8 acres are affected. When site was approved the operator
posted a warranty in the amount of $60,000.00 to cover the cost of reclamation. The
current warranty is adequate to cover the disturbance noted. DBMS, will calculate
the warranty and adjust it accordingly if the disturbance increase from the current
8 acres AND DEPTH OF MINING IS INCREASED. However, if the operator cuts the mining
slope to an approximate 2:1 or gentler, it will lower the cost of reclamation
drastically.
10)The Division request the operator to clearly indicate the maximum affected areas and
extent of the high wall in their annual report, which is not reported as such at the
present time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. JOE GAGLIANO
OPERATOR: L.-I DEVELOPMENT
ADDRESS 256 N.MERRILL DRIVE
CITY/STATE/ZIP: PuFRI Q WEST CQ 81007 cc: F CE Mr. Mrs. Poch
