STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866-3567
FAX: (303) 832-8106
COLORADO
D I V I S I ON OF
RECLAMATION
MINING
SAFETY
Bill Ritter, Jr.
INTEROFFICE Governor
Harris D. Sherman
MEMORANDUM Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
TO: Joe Dudash Natural Resource Trustee
FROM: Jim Star
SUBJECT: Bowie No. 2 TR-55 Cost Estimate
DATE: 11 August 2008
I have reviewed the materials submitted with Bowie No. 2 Mine's Technical Revision 55
as they relate to the reclamation cost estimate. In the cover letter BRL states that they do
not believe that there should be any increase in the bond amount because the area in
question and associated new construction as it will all be buried in the fill material.
Based on the location in question and the currently approved post-mining topography, the
Division agrees with BRL's statement that no increase in bond is necessary. If, in the
future, BRL changes the PMT, it may be necessary to take a new look at the road/slope
work. At this point it is not necessary to revise the reclamation cost estimate or increase
the bond based on the proposed TR-55 work.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.
cc
Sandy Brown
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
