Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 11, 2008, an application to revise coal <br />mining operations at the Roadside Portals was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Snowcap Coal Company, Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />With this technical revision Snowcap Coal Company, Inc. proposes to change the post mining land use at the <br />Overland Conveyor from fish and wildlife to industrial. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles North of Palisade, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 26, 27, 28, 34, and 35, TIOS, R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, and 13, TI I S, <br />R98W, 6th PM; Portions of Section 7, T 1 I S, R97W, 6th PM; all in Mesa County. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cameo and Palisade. <br />The above referenced technical revision application would not incorporate additional lands into the permit area <br />and the operator has requested no new disturbed acreage with this application. The operator is requesting that <br />approximately 4.7 acres be changed back to the original pre mining land use of industrial. The proposed change is <br />shown on the enclosed Map 63 Post Mining Land Use submitted with this technical revision. <br />Please advise us if you require additional information. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. <br />At the time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at <br />the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder, 544 Rood Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81502, and at the Division office. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
