Thickener underflow line disturbance area near
the old Brown Palace pad area has been seeded.
Reclamation Success: TCC has been conducting weed control through out the mine property. Whitetop,
Houndstongue and knapweed are primarily sprayed in the early summer months and Canada thistle is
sprayed in the fall. Other weed species are managed in accordance with the recommended control. The
Division collected point locations of observed weed patches using a Trimble GeoXT GPS.
Specific locations of concern of weed infestations are:
Whitetop: along Haul road C. On north slope of Truck loadout south of pond C. Adjacent to, and north
of the Train load out. West of Refuse pile. Pond T topsoil stockpile. TCC has been conducting
spraying. Whitetop is not yet showing signs of pesticide uptake.
Canada Thistle &Bull Thistle: 6MN pad, topsoil stockpile and areas adjacent to 6MN pond. FCBH
pump house area and several small spots around water treatment ponds. Additional locations collected
with GPS unit will be forwarded to the operator once GPS data is downloaded. Some thistle has been
sprayed along the haul roads, but additional control is necessary.
Yellow toadflax: A very small, —5 ft. dia. Area immediately adjacent to the Pond T primary on the
outslope of the embankment.
