Pond SS-2 contained a small amount of water with no discharge noted. No problems were noted. Embankments appeared stable with good vegetation throughout. Roadside ditches appeared to be in compliance with no problems noted. Facilities area ditches appeared to be in compliance and no problems were noted with the exception of the following: Diversion ditches and culverts in and around the facilities area appeared to be functioning as permitted. Processing Waste Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Grading appeared to allow good run- off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile- 5 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches. Support Facilities Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. No problems were noted with the exception of the following: The area around the rock dust tank RDH-2 was stable at the time of the inspection with no problems noted. The load out area was stable at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. The area in and around the slot storage appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No erosion was noted on the pad or the slopes of the pad at the time of the inspection. The water storage tank area appeared stable with good drainage and no problems noted. Revegetation Grasses are beginning to come up on the reclaimed refuse pile RP-1, this site, along with the entire are of the mine, has experienced a heavy amount of cheatgrass. There did not appear to be any problems with weeds or erosion at the time of the inspection. Revegetation of the east portal was established with good cover. Reclamation Success Refuse Pile RP-1 has been reclaimed and is stable with no problems noted. Vegetation appears to be coming in a high amount with no problems noted. The east portal site has been reclaimed and has shown to be stable with no signs of erosion and good vegetation establishment. Overall, the Deserado Mine is in good condition and appears to be conducting operations as required.
