Revegetation
Grasses and (orbs remain fairly sparse due to the extended dry conditions that have plagued
the region this spring and summer. The Russian knapweed plants near the parking area
appeared to have been treated with a herbicide since the last inspection, as these noxious
weeds were brown and unhealthy in appearance. Shrub transplants, in particular, the
ponderosa pine, show signs of stress due to lack of moisture. Tips of the small trees were
brown and dead although other portions of the trees appeared green and reasonably
healthy. Some mortality may occur in the ponderosa due to the heat and lack of moisture
this year.
i
1
Overall, the site appeared in average condition for the summer season. Additional rainfall
would be very beneficial.
4
