THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE DOES NOT NEED TO BE HELD CONFIDENTIAL
Exhibit C-AMSO,LLC Notice of Intent Supplemental Information
• Reseeding operations will take into account environmental factors such as seasonal
patterns of precipitation, temperature, and wind; soil texture and fertility;slope stability
and the direction the slope faces_ If it is determined that the topsoil:material:is deficient
in nutrients, fertilizer will be added. To prevent erosion, certified weed-free straw mulch
will be applied over seeded areas at a rate of 2,000 lbs/acre and crimped in. If necessary,
permanent erosion control measures, such as geotextile fabrics may be installed.
During project operations, and as part of the site reclamation, care will be taken to
prevent any noxious weed species from becoming established in the project area. Pre-
construction field surveys will be conducted each spring prior to construction,to identify
existing noxious weed infestations within the project area. BLM and local weed agencies
will be consulted to develops treatment strategies for noxious weed infestations identified
during spring surveys. Vehicles and equipment arriving at the work site will be clean,
power-washed,and free of soil and vegetative debris capable of transporting weed seeds
or other propagules. The distribution and density of noxious weeds in the project area
will be monitored, and any new or expanded, populations will be controlled and/or
eradicated for the life of the';RD&D project and throughout final reclamation.
4. Describe how drill holes will be,plugged(refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required
abandonment Procedures):
During construction, all drill holes and monitoring wells will be completed with surface
• casing that includes a threaded coupling so that grouting equipment may be fitted to the
casing to facilitate attachment of grouting equipment. Upon completion of the project, all
drill holes and monitoring wells will be plugged by grouting in accordance With the
procedures for permanent abandonment of prospecting drill holes, specified in Rule 5.4,
of the Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety. Grouting mixtures will be
selected based on water chemistry for the formations penetrated by the monitoring wells
or drill holes. During drill hole sealing operations, care will be taken to avoid excessive
grouting pressures that could fracture formation materials. A plug or seal will be placed
at the ground surface so as not to interfere with soil cultivation or surface use.,
5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be
reclaimed(refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for specific reclamation performance standards).
All pits will be reclaimed by pumping out any fluids and hauling them to approved
disposal facilities. Liner will be disposed of in accordance with BLM requirements. The
pit excavations will then be backfilled and compacted with the stockpiled subsoil material
that was removed during excavation of the pits. Subsoil will be used to achieve a sub-
grade that conforms,as nearly as practicable,to the original contours. Replaced subsoil
will be compacted prior to placement of topsoil. Stockpiled topsoil will be placed over
the surface to a minimum depth of six inches, and the area will be reseeded with
approved seed mixes, as described in Item 7,below. To prevent erosion, straw mulch
will be applied over seeded areas at a rate of 2,000 lbs/acre and crimped in. If necessary,
Permanent erosion control measures, such as geotextile fabrics may be installed.
28
li
