URAVAN-BECK PROJECT DRILL SITE P-9 Page 4 of 7
NOTICE OF INTENT TO COMMENCE PROSPECTING
APPENDICES To NOI APPLICATION
When drilling is complete, any cuttings that do not fit back in the hole will be spread in
an area up to 20 ft. in diameter around each drill hole using the backhoe. Topsoil will
then be re-spread to an average depth of 3" over the 20-ft. diameter area that was
stripped of topsoil.
Section IV. 4.
After geophysical logging, all holes will be backfilled with cuttings, concrete-plugged at 7
to 2 ft. below ground surface (bgs), and dirt-filled from 2 to 0 ft. bgs to meet Colorado
abandonment regulations as described in Chapter 5.4 of the DRMS hard rock
regulations. Any drill holes that have evidence of artesian flow will be plugged with a
neat cement grout or similar material to prevent any flow to the surface. Any hole that
encounters an aquifer will be sealed to prevent contamination of this aquifer using high
quality sodium bentonite gel specifically designed for use as an abandonment fluid. All
dry holes will be backfilled with cuttings, and plugged from 7 to 2 ft. bgs with a cement
plug. The final two ft. to the surface will be filled with remaining cuttings or dirt.
