URAVAN-BECK PROJECT DRILL SITE P-6 Page 3 of 7
NOTICE OF INTENT TO COMMENCE PROSPECTING
APPENDICES To NOI APPLICATION
Section 111.7. J.
The drill pad area will be located on two shelves of a flat plateau. A small shoulder near the
center of the drill site provides access between the two shelves. The plateau is about 1/3
mi. south of Red Canyon, and approximately 600 vertical feet above this drainage. No
groundwater was encountered during previous Uranium drilling in the Carpenter Flats area
(as verbally reported to the Company by a previous operator). It is anticipated that no water
will be encountered while drilling the planned 200-ft. deep holes.
APPENDIX B
Section /V 2.
Vegetation at the Drill Site is dominated by an open stand of Pinyon-Juniper woodlands with
scattered understory vegetation, based on a site visit and recent aerial photos from the
National Agricultural Imagery
Program (NAIP) (2006). A photo
of the site area, taken from the
road where the proposed access
trail would take off, is shown to
the right. This is an old ?y .±
exploration trail that was recently
driven on by an ATV.
NRCS data from Soil Survey
C0675 - Parts of Montrose,
Dolores, and San Miguel
Counties, 2008 lists the drill site -
as being in the Gladel-Bond-
Rock outcrop complex (Map Unit
45), 1 to 50 percent slopes.
Rangeland Productivity and Plant
Production data does not list any
plant species for this map unit, although vegetative production (dry weight) is estimated to
be 50-300 pounds per acre for Gladel soils and 200-600 pounds per acre for Bond soils.
The site investigation found Birch leaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus),
Serviceberry (Amalanchier alnifolia), Curl-leaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius),
cacti including Claret cup cactus (Echinocereus triglochidiatus) and Hedgehog cactus
(Pediocactus simpsoni), Wallflower (Erysimum capitatum), and Popcorn flower (Cryptantha
sp.), Indian ricegrass (Achnatherum hymenoides).
