Re: Summary of Review
The submittal consisted of an updated mine plan map for the King I Mine. The purpose
of the updated map was to update the mine plan in Section 6 of T1 IN, R34W. The mine
has added new submains and deleted some of the previously approved workings.
The revised mine plan indicates renewable resource lands (rangelands where cattle may
graze) will be undermined as they have elsewhere in the permit area. The existing permit
application contains adequate predictions of the worst possible subsidence consequences
and an adequate description of a subsidence monitoring program. The submittal is
technically adequate.
No additional bond is necessary, as no new structures or disturbance are proposed. The
operator's public notice was published in the Durango Herald on July 8, 2008. No
comments have been received. A proposed decision to approve TR-14 is warranted.
