Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has received a revision for the West Elk Mine. The
revision was called complete on July 15, 2008. The decision due date is July 25, 2008.
The operator proposes to add to the permit the "actual" plan for panel E-1 methane drainage wells (as a
follow-up to the conceptual plan approved in TR-111). The "actual" plan for the methane drainage wells
shows no change from the previously approved conceptual plan.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
TrV,% 91'--
Tom Kaldenbach
Environmental Protection Specialist
TAK/Ahd
Office of
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
