The road section that has been unstable is referred to as
Curve #11.
BRL has developed a plan to remedy this problem. Curve #11 will be moved to the north and
west and the BSeam cut slope inclination will be reduced to approximately 2HIV. The project
involves the following:
1. Construct a riprap reinforced slope above the B-Seam Portals.
2. Construct two soil nail retaining walls. Both walls are approximately 220 feet long.
Wall #1 and Wall #2 have 2,170 and 1,630 face square feet respectively.
3. Construct a French drain along wall #2. The French drain is approximately 330 feet
long and 22-feet deep as shown on Map 15-6.
4. Approximately 8,000 cubic yards will be rearranged on the face of the slope, some
cut and some fill.
5. Curve #11 will be re-constructed and paved.
BRL does not believe the reclamation plan needs to be revised because of this work. The
reinforced slope, retaining walls and French drain will all be backfilled in place so no extra
reclamation work will be required. There is no additional disturbed area and all work will be
performed on BRL's property.
New Maps 15-5 and 15-6 and table of contents page iii are provided to support this technical
revision.
Sincerely,
¢ C.
J..
