INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: JASON MUSIC
FROM: JANET BI 11,
SUBJECT: C1981 D _ QUA Y RESPONSE NO. 2
DATE: 6/ 19/2008
CC: DAN HERNANDEZ
I have reviewed TMI's response to the Division's May 7, 2008 adequacy letter for RN5. TMI's response
is dated May 29, 2008. My remaining question, previously designated "comment 2", from the May 7,
2008 letter follows:
"Please include the area disturbed by the October 8, 2006, East Panel landslide as " disturbed area".
Please provide a reclamation plan for the slide area and reclamation costs associated with reclamation of
the slide area.
The Division utilized the volumes provided by Trapper Mining Inc. and found them to be supported.
However, there was not an explanation of where the topsoil for placement on the East Panel Slide area
was coming from. The Division's Task 179 used the haul distance provided by TMI. Please have
Trapper Mining Inc. provide additional explanation of where this topsoil would be hauled from."
TMI's response provided a list of the G pit topsoil piles and volume necessary to replace 12" of topsoil
on the G pit slide area. This response is acceptable. TMI listed three topsoil stockpiles, G06-2, G06-3,
and G06-4, that are not shown on 2006 or 2007 Annual Reclamation Report maps (Appendix W 2006 &
2007 Annual Reclamation Map 1, sheet 3 of 3). Even without the inclusion of the topsoil volume of
these three topsoil stockpiles, TMI has shown that there is sufficient topsoil available for replacement and
the haul distances can be determined for all except the three G-06 stockpiles. TMI's response is
sufficient. TMI needs to include the G06-2, G06-3, and G06-4 topsoil pile locations on a map.
