a Vr
,0??401s
Berhan Keffelew
Enviromental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St,Room 215
Denver, CO 80203

JUN 12 2006
Division ui rwciamation,
Mining and Safety
My name is Debbi Houston. I have worked in Security at the Cripple
Creek and Victor Gold llMine for over 13 years. I have raised 4
children and provided an income and health benefits to them and my
husband while working here. I am. not alone, the mine employs over
300 people all of whom have families that are provided for because a
family member works here.
Over the years I have seen the mine donate time, money and
products to hundreds of community projects because they are a part
of this community.
This area, around Victor and Cripple Creek, has been a mining
district for over a hundred years. Families that have lived here for
generations know that' and I knew that when I moved here 15 years
ago. Mining was and isj the livelihood of this area.
In the 13 years I've worked at CC & V they have complied with all of
their permit requirements and been an environmentally responsible
member of this community.
.It is my sincere hope the permit application will be approved.
Debbi Houston
