B. Permanent Fill <br />Permanent Fill shall be constructed on clayey soils meeting the following gradation: <br />Sieve Size Percent Passing <br />5" 100 <br />No. 4 30 - 60 <br />No. 200 25 - 55 <br />The material shall be obtained from required excavations, borrow areas, stockpiles, or other <br />sources as specified by the Engineer. The soils shall be free of any deleterious materials, <br />including materials larger than 5", as specified by the Engineer. Oversize rock fragments shall be <br />wasted as approved by the Engineer. Permanent Fill <br />Weathered bedrock shall be removed a minimum depth of 12 inches or more to subject to approval <br />by the engineer prior to fill placement in areas to receive permanent fill. <br />3.02 DEWATERING <br />The Owner shall construct and maintain all necessary channels, flumes, drains, and related <br />structures; furnish all equipment required to remove water from various parts of the work; and maintain <br />Section 02290 - Page 2 of 4 02/08
