I have received a copy of the proposed revisions
to Deserado Mine's existing permit no. C-1981-018, and reviewed the proposed revisions for any possible
impacts to wildlife resources.
Deserado Mine's proposed revisions to their current permit fall under the management guidelines provided in, "A
Cooperative Plan for Black-Footed Ferret Reintroduction and Management, Wolf Creek and Coyote Basin
Management Areas, Moffat and Rio Blanco Counties, Colorado. " Pursuant to this plan, the 760 acres that
Deserado Mine has requested for addition to their permit are specifically designated as being outside the Wolf
Creek and Coyote Basin Ferret Management Areas. Furthermore, Deserado Mine's proposed revisions
specifically state that no additional surface disturbances are being proposed. As such, I find there to be no
significant potential for negative impacts on current efforts to restore black-footed ferret populations as a result of
Deserado Mine's requested revisions to their current application. I also do not foresee any negative impacts on
other threatened or endangered species or other wildlife in the area.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this proposal. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact
me any time.
Sincerely, oe?
Bill. de Vergie
CDOWArea..Wildlife Manager
rNI
1, 7
" DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Hams D.
