This revision modifies the
seed mixture to a seeding rate and species blend that is more appropriate for the site than the original seed mix. The
original seed mix had seeding rates that were about 10 times greater than is appropriate and some of the species in
the original mix are not appropriate for the site or the anticipated reclamation growth medium. The revision also
removes from the plan the use of fertilizer and mulch, neither of which is usually appropriate or necessary for tundra
sites.
This revision should reduce the bond amount by at least 50% and probably more. Please recalculate the reclamation
costs using these revisions. It should also be noted that a possible on-site inspection later this summer after the site
is accessible may generate new data regarding the area of disturbance, volumes of material needing earthmoving, and
potentially some additional revisions to the reclamation plan to make it less expensive and more appropriate for the
site.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
r '
Mark A. Heffner
cc: john Browning
