Deposition of structural and surface materials into underground workings

Dear Ms. Thurlkill:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety (Division) has reviewed the
Technical Revision TR-10 regarding the underground disposal of structural and surface
materials and we desire the following additional information in order to render a decision
on the TR:
1) Section A states that the area of backfill is located above the maximum post-mine
closure water level. Please indicate how far above that level the disposal area is.
2) Section B states that some of the material will consist of sludge from concrete
ponds. Although a certification of clean and inert fill material was provided with
the application, there was no chemical analysis to support it. Please provide more
detailed information on the sludge, including a laboratory analysis of the chemical
composition.
