The technical issues all appear to be answered
by your responses. Due to this additional topsoil to be respread, the existing bond amount was
recalculated to account for this additional material handling. Also, since the bond amount had not been
recalculated after the Division's 5/24/07 approval of the revised (BLM) seed mix in technical revision
TR-4, those new figures were included in this current recalculation.
Technical revision TR-5 requires that the new topsoil pile be seeded to help control erosion and protect
the topsoil quality, and that offsite sediment movement be prevented by use of a silt fence. The
Division will inspect for these items in its future inspections.
Please review the enclosed reclamation cost estimate, and notify me promptly if you notice any errors
or omissions. The new total bond figure shown on the packet's summary page is $74,892. Since the
existing bond is a corporate surety, the bond amount may be revised easily through the submittal of a
rider to the bond. All bond paperwork should be submitted directly to Elizabeth Taliaferro at the
Division's Denver office (see letterhead).
The Division appreciates benison's extra efforts to salvage this topsoil and protect it until it is
eventually utilized to enhance over an acre of site reclamation. The Division has approved this
technical revision.
A
If you have questions or comments, please contact me at the Division's Durango field officer 701
Camino del Rio, Room 315, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193.
Cont.
~~
Q~w
Office of Office of
AAinArl I and Rr ~lamatinn Denver • Grand lunctinn • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
