A search of our records indicates that properties listed on the State Register of Historic
Properties may be adversely affected by the proposed project.
A search of the quarter-quarter sections in which the project is planned indicates the presence of
419 sites, many of which contribute to three listed National Register Historic Districts in that
area: Cripple Creek Historic District [STL.2], Stratton's Independence Mine and Mill [STL.340],
and Victor Downtown Historic District [STL.134]. Pursuant to the Act's provision CRS 24-80.1-
105 (3), "[p]roperty included in the national register shall be included in the state register without
determination by the society, by reason of such inclusion." Therefore, the three National
Register-listed properties are subject to the provisions of the Act.
We recommend as the next. step in consultation that we meet with you to discuss the nature of the
project, the area to be directly affected, and the likelihood of adverse indirect effects on listed
properties such as visual effects.
Finally, we ask that you advise if you are aware of any federal agency involvement in this project
that could be permits associated with relocating waste materials, soil and/or minerals or federal
environmental requirements.
If you have any questions, please feel, free to contact Dan.
