Box 92 <br />Wei ~-~~~ Nucta, Colorado 81424 <br />P.O.Boz 618 <br />Nude, Cobrodo 81414 <br />RE: Reclamation Phase 1 & 2 Bond Release Notification for Areas East of 2700 Rd. <br />Teleplane 91N864-1165 <br />~ 91Q/864..1ib8 Dear Mr. & Mrs. Burbridge, <br />Westem Fuels Colorado, is applying for a Phase 1 and 2 bond release for part of its reclaimed <br />New Horizon #2 Mine located 1 mile west of Nuda, Cobrado. As required by Colorado law, <br />whenever any part of any coal mine bond is to be released, all interested parties must be notified. <br />This letter is to notify you that Western Fuels-Colorado is requesting partial release of the current <br />bond amount for successful phase 1 (backfilling and grading to near original topography) and <br />phase 2 (revegetation to post-mine land use) reclamation of the New Horizon #2 Mine east of <br />2700 Rd. The permit number is C-81-008, which was inftially approved in 1981. Ali mine areas in <br />this application were backfilled, graded, topsoiled and reseeded to the approved reclamation plan. <br />• Phase 3 bond release that deals with vegetation production standards and the ten year minimum <br />time dock has yet to be applied for. The requested bond reduction amount is to be calculated by <br />the Division of Reclamation, Mining, & Safety. <br />The general description of the property to be released is as follows: <br />T47N R18W -SECTION 36 - E1/2 E1/2 SE1/4 <br />T47N R15W -SECTION 31 - SW 1/4 <br />T48N R16W -SECTION 1 - E1/2 NE1/4 NE1/4 <br />T48N R15W -SECTION 6 - N1/2 <br />The parcel of land in questlon is located on the U.S.G.S. NUCLA Quadrangle. <br />Written comments, objections and requests for public hearing or informal conferences should be <br />submitted to: <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, 8 Safety <br />215 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 <br />The full bond release application will be submitted to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, <br />& Safety in the third week of May, 2008. A copy will also be placed on file at the Montrose County <br />extension office in Nuda. All information on the mine location, maps. revegetation, etc. is contained <br />in this application. If you have any questions, comments or disagreements with the proposed bond <br />release, please notify the Colorado Division of Reclamation.
