Bex 628 <br />Nudo, Celaodo 81424 <br />RE: Reclamation Phase 1 & 2 Bond Release Notiflcation for Areas East of 2700 Rd. <br />Tdephene 97iy864-2165 <br />Fmc 474/864-2168 Dear Mr. & Mrs. Moore, <br />Western Fuels Colorado, is applying for a Phase 1 and 2 bond release for part of its reclaimed <br />New Horizon #2 Mine located 1 mile west of Nucla, Colorado. As required by Colorado law, <br />whenever any part of any coal mine bond is to be released, all interested parties must be notified. <br />This letter is to notify you that Western Fuels-Colorado is requesting partial release of the current <br />bond amount for successful phase 1 (backfllling and grading to near origlr~l topography) and <br />phase 2 (revegetation to post-mine land use) reclamation of the New Horizon #2 Mine east of <br />2700 Rd. The permit number is C-81-008, which was initialty approved ~ 1981. All mine areas in <br />this application were backfllled, graded, topsoiled and reseeded to the approved reclamation plan. <br />• Phass 3 bond release that deals with vegetation production standards and the ten year minimum <br />time dock has yet to be applied for. The requested bond reduction amount is to be calculated by <br />the Division of Reclamation, Mining, & Safety. <br />The general description of the property to be released is as follows: <br />T47N R16W -SECTION 36 - E1/2 E1/2 SE1/4 <br />T47N R15W -SECTION 31 - SW 1 /4 <br />T46N R16W -SECTION 1 - E1/2 NE1/4 NE1/4 <br />T46N R15W -SECTION t3 - N1/2 <br />The parcel of land in question is located on the U.S.G.S. NUCI.A Quadrangle. <br />Written comments, objections and requests for public hearing or informal conferences should tie <br />submitted to: <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, & Safety <br />215 Centenn'ra1 Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 <br />The full bond release application will be submitted to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, <br />8 Safety in the third weak of May, 2008. A Dopy will also be placid on file at the Montrose County <br />extension office in Nucla.
