Atomized gasoJ.ine has the carne ; <br />composition as li.quefed gasoline while gasol.i.ne vapors are different. Canjunctivitis~has <br />been reported after I hour of exposure to 900 ppm. <br />Skin: Mild erythema to full thickness chemical burns .have occurred after prolonged <br />exposure to various hydrocarbon fuels ara.d oils. <br />CHRONIC: <br />Chron.i.c exposurc resultti in kidney damage in cnaJ.e rats. However, this damage appears to ; <br />be related to a protein produced in large amounts in. rna.Ic rats, but not in humans or female , <br />rats. Occupational exposures in petroleum. relining are considered Group 2A (probably <br />carcinogenic) by IARC. <br />• <br />J <br />Liver and kidney turrm.ors have bccn noted in an.im.al.s. Data is less clear in puma».s because <br />of confounding factors i.n epidcmiologic studies.
