LEVEL RESPONDERS (any Team Member knowledgeable; of the safe handling of the spilled <br />substance) ' <br />i <br />I <br />1. Safety is the first consideration when responding to a spill. Human life or health must not be jeopardized. Be sure the site of <br />the spill/accident is safe before proceeding. Treatment of life threatening injuries takes precedence. ~ <br />2. Use common sense. ~ <br />3. Notifv another Team Member, and call for help if needed. <br />4. Stop spill at source (if this can be done safely). <br />5. Stop spread of spill (if this can be done safely). <br />6. Report incident to supervisor as soon as reasonably possible. i <br />7. Recover spilled material and place in a contained area or treat to neutralize material. <br />8. Complete Internal Spill Report, after incident is managed. (Appendix A or MS F~ccei, "File", "Neu', "Misc.", "SPILLform"). <br />SECOND LEVEL RESPONDERS (Another Team Member or Supervisor) ' <br />1. Provide first level responders with everything they need to safely and effectively respond to the spill. <br />2. Inform the Environmental Resources Department so that proper external notifications can be made per regulations. <br />3. Notifv the Safety Department. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES RESPONSE <br />1. Vert field procedures are properly followed. <br />2. Determine information and notification requirements. <br />3. Notifv General Manager, if external notifications are required. <br />4. Notifv appropriate external entities within regulatory timeframe. Record details of who was informed of what and when, in <br />accordance with the notifications. I <br />5. Follow-up with an inspection of the site. Sample as necessary. Complete documentation. <br />6. Review incident and implement remedial measures if needed. i <br />i <br />OFF-SITE SPILL RESPONSE POLICY <br />Due to liability concerns; it is CC&V's policy not to respond to spills caused by other entities, including transporters, <br />unless: i <br />1. The spill is within the Cresson Project Area; or <br />2. CC&V has been requested to do so by the responsible party or the local emergency response team AND i <br />3.
