Based on recent data from the lower benches of <br />the mine, the frequency of occurrence of intermediate angle features may be increasing <br />slightly with depth. <br />4. There are a relatively small number of near-horizontal features, but those that have been <br />identified are often extensive (Figure 3 and Figure 4). <br />5. There is a single "toppler" joint, dipping into the East Wall of the South Mine, and oriented <br />sub-parallel to it. However this feature does not appear to extend to depth, and there do not <br />appear to be parallel structures, which would be needed for toppling to occur. <br />In summary, the structural conditions of the mine wall materials appear to be favorable for stability, in <br />that there are very few persistent joints which are oriented so as to form potential sliding blocks or <br />wedges in the mine walls. <br />The structural conditions on all walls is described and discussed in the following sections. <br /> <br />• <br />1385D.980612 13 <br />
