The tests identified as "planar" failure or "mixed" failure had all or part (respectively) <br />of the failure plane take place along pre-existing rock fabric (usually healed joints), and so are not <br />representative of, and weaker than, the intact rock strength. <br />1385D.980612 5 <br />
