MLESIopeDesign
1. INTRODUCTION
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company ("CC&V") is proposing to extend the life of the Cresson
Project, which extracts and processes gold ore from the Cripple Creek Mining District ("District") by
surface mining and valley leach extraction methods. This Mine Life Extension ("MLE") will mine an
additiona1360 million tons of rock from the District, of which approximately 110 million tons would be
processed as ore in a phased extension of the valley leach system, and approximately 250 million tons of
overburden would be used for mine backfill or placed in constructed overburden storage facilities.
The proposed mine life extension will involve the following mining activities (Figure 1):
1. Extending and deepening the existing Main Cresson Mine;
2. Extending and deepening the existing Globe Hill Mine;
3. Mining the South Cresson Mine
4. Mining the Wildhorse Extension Mine
5. Mining the Schist Island Mine.
•
•
This report presents the mine slope designs for the MLE. The designs are based on prior material
testing, slope analysis, and mining experience.
2.
