Parkdale Quarry Amendment #1 -Bond Phasing Calculations <br />April 2008 <br />disturbed from topsoil and overburden stockpiles would need to undergo seeding, mulching, and <br />reseeding. <br />Aspect D assumes that the product stockpiles will be removed by the mine operator. Therefore, the <br />only reclamation costs for this aspect will be scarifying the compacted ground, placement of topsoil, <br />seeding and mulching, and reseeding in the area of the product stockpiles. <br />Aspect E includes the cost of backfilling the sedimentation ponds, placing topsoil to 6-inches, seeding <br />and mulching, and reseeding the area. In the unlikely event that the mine operator does not remove <br />the sediment pond pumps and ancillary equipment, it is assumed that the sale of this equipment will <br />offset the cost of removal. <br />Aspect F assumes that the access road around the perimeter of the Sand and Gravel mining limit will <br />remain. The remainder of the costs for this aspect is assumed to be scarifying the compacted ground on <br />the remaining access roads, replacing topsoil to 6-inches, seeding and mulching, and reseeding. The <br />office and entrance road will remain on site after reclamation. <br />Aspect G assumes the conveyer belt, processing plant, and ancillary equipment will be removed by the <br />operator. In the unlikely event that the operator abandons this equipment, it is assumed that the cost <br />of removal will be offset by the sale of the conveyer belt, processing plant, and ancillary equipment. The <br />only cost calculated for this aspect is for the removal of the two concrete support structures elevating <br />the conveyor belt over an interior haul road, scarifying compacted ground in the vicinity of the <br />processing plant, seeding and mulching, and reseeding. <br />Aspect H includes the cost of backfilling the trench with clay. It is assumed that the dewatering trench <br />will be used to key the clay liner into competent bedrock for the reservoir. In the unlikely event that the <br />pump and ancillary equipment is not removed by the mine operator, it is assumed that the sale of this <br />equipment will offset the cost of removal. <br />Aspect I includes the cost of backfilling stormwater ponds, placing topsoil to 6-inches, seeding and <br />mulching, and reseeding the area. The area of the stormwater ponds was calculated using information <br />provided in the drainage report. <br />Since an end user for the reservoir has not been determined, Aspect J assumes that a portable pump will <br />suffice as inlet and outlet works. Once an end user is identified and reservoir operations are defined, a <br />design for the inlet and outlet works is recommended. As a result, portable pumps and ancillary <br />equipment removal costs are assumed to be offset by the sale of this equipment. <br />Aspect K includes the cost of reclamation of the approximately 1100-foot berm located southwest of the <br />Granite Quarry mining limit. This aspect also includes replacing topsoil to 6 inches, seeding and <br />mulching and reseeding the area disturbed by the berm. <br />2~Page <br />
