Helen Migchelbrink, PE
1505 Teakwood Court
Fort Collins, CO 80525
April 10, 2008
Mr. Carl Mount
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
~~~oi1.
~~~~~~~®
APR 15 2000
Division °iand Sa ety n,
Mining
Re: Technical Revision for Permit No. M-2006-018 -North Bank Resources
Dear Mr. Mount:
On behalf of Lafarge, this letter shall serve as formal request for a Technical Revision to
the Reclamation Permit No. M-2006-018 for the North Bank Gravel Mine in Garfield
County. Enclosed please find the TR permit fee of $216 and proposed mining phasing
plan.
The purpose of this Technical Revision is to alter the mining sequence and phasing plan
as it was originally described in the application materials. Originally, the mining
sequence was intended to be done in fifteen to twenty acre internal phases, starting with
Cell A and finishing with Cell B, and was written as shown below:
Exhibit D-Mining Plan (from the DRMS application dated January 20, 2005)
Material will be processed from two distinct pits; Cell A and Cell B. Cell A occupies
approximately 47 acres and Cell B 31 acres, respectively. The proposed operation will
start with the western Cell A, and completely mine it out prior to mining of Cell B:
Each of the cells will be stripped in internal phases of approximately 15 to 20 acres
each in order to allow for efficient removal of the resources, minimal "double-
handling"and stockpiling of overburden, and concurrent reclamation.
Proposed phasin sequence change
Lafarge is requesting the following change to the sequence (mine Cell B first and then
Cell A last) and to the sub-phasing (rather than 15 to 20 acre sub phases, complete the
operation in sub phases of approximately 10 acres each)
Material will be processed from two distinct pits; Cell A and Cell B. Cell A occupies
approximately 47 acres and Cell B 31 acres, respectively. Construction will start with
the western portion of Cell B. Then the mining of Cell B, which will occupy 31 acres,
L_
