The letters were dated May 2, 2006 and February 22, 2007 and copies were sent by the Division
to Bowie Resources LLC (BRL) for their consideration. Responses by BRL to the Forest Service issues
were sent to the Forest Service by the Division. [n addition, the Forest Service received copies of seismic
monitoring reports and apre-subsidence inspection report for the Terror Creek Reservoir area.
Since we are approaching resolution of the PR-10 issues, the Division would like to know what
outstanding issues remain as far as the Forest Service is concerned. Also, please advise us as to whether or
not you feel another meeting to discuss PR-10 issues would be desirable.
Also, as we had discussed previously, BRL has submitted Permit Revision No. 11 (PR-11) for the Bowie
No. 2 Mine. In PR-11, the proposed mine plan that was originally submitted in PR-10 is being revised.
Instead of the generally east-west trending longwall panels proposed in PR-10, the revised mine plan in
PR-11 has the longwall panels trending generally north-south. In order to avoid any confusion in the
reviews of the two permit revisions, the Division has decided to finish the review of PR-10 as submitted. A
separate review of PR-i l will be conducted concurrently.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
~~•~C
ose J. dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Jim Stover (J.E.
