Attached is the reclamation cost estimate for the Yoast Mine's 2008 Midterm Review.
The estimate is 88 Tasks and represents a new liability of $5,472,521.00. This estimate is
an increase in liability of $376,832.00 over Yoast's current liability (of $5,096,689.00)
and an increase in liability of $272,521.00 over the current bond held of $5,200,000.00.
The main reason for the increase in liability is an increase in equipment costs. The most
substantial cost increase was for the CAT D 11 R dozer. The hourly cost increased from
$331.16 in 2005 to $432.96 today (an increase of $101.80 or almost 31 %). The table
below details the increases in cost for the major equipment on site as well as the main
areas where the costs increased. Of note on the Drainage Control tasks is that
$139,930.00 of the overall increase in cost for that task group (a total increase of
$157,754.00) was for the construction of the post-mining drainage channels.
