Box 1030
Paonia, Colorado 81428
Re: Comments Re~ardina Bowie Geotechnical Borehole 2007
To Whom It May Concern:
Oxbow Mining, ]LLC, Elk Creek Mine (Oxbow) is in receipt of the Public Scoping document for
the Bowie Resources, LLC (Bowie) proposal to construct a drill pad, access road and drill one
continuous geotechnical borehole in Hubbard Canyon on USFS managed lands. Oxbow
appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposal.
The USFS should recall that Bowie and Oxbow have adjoining Federal coal leases in the general
vicinity of Hubbzird canyon. The Bowie proposal appears to be drilling the borehole just
adjacent to Oxbow's coal lease. In the vicinity of Hubbard canyon, Bowie and Oxbow have
overlapping CDR:MS Permit Boundaries and sometimes overlapping interests with respect to our
two mining operations.
Oxbow wishes to comment that the Bowie proposal should not result in any changes or limits to
Oxbow's access to conduct authorized mining related activities in the area.
Please contact me; at 970-929-5806 if you have any questions concerning our comments. 'Thank
you again for the opportunity to comment on the proposed project.
Sincerely,
h ,
C1M-r~ ~ ~
es A.
