Reestablish native herbaceous flora or desirable pasture grasses per use of to improve
wildlife habitat and to preserve the aesthetic values of the natural geologic formations on
site.
4. Rapid elimination of new infestations of weeds
The owners, successors and assigns, shall use an adaptive management strategy based on an
integrated pest management (IPM) philosophy. They shall iden~ify and map the weeds on site and
develop long-term and seasonal management plans. These plan's shall establish specific control
methods and timing. Monitoring and assessment of the control methods shall evaluate the
effectiveness of these methods and will provide feedback to mo~ify and improve the management
plans. The owners, successors and assigns shall also keep records of maps, plans, treatments, and
results.
A good IPM weed management system uses two or more methods to control weeds most
effectively. This management plan will implement plant competition as a primary tool for the
establishment of desirable plants and the eradication of noxious; weeds. Monitoring and adaptive
management shall be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the competitive strategies and respond
with stronger methods if the primary strategy of competition proves insufficient. Effective weed
management techniques must be applied and evaluated over an extended period of time to be
successful. This plan shall be implemented as part of along-term land management program.
Weed Management Plan Procedures
Procedure 1: Identification and Mapping
l . Identification and maps of existing weed infestations are provided and updated
by September 30"' each year.
