Any proposed changes that may be harmful to or negatively impact the citizens of <br />Costilla County the residents of the town of Satr Luis. <br />~. Granting Battle Mountain Gold water rights to irrigate the property formerly known as <br />the Shalom Ranch aka the Salazar Ranch. <br />5. A change of industrial/mining water to agriculture use. Battle Mountain Gold should not <br />be allowed to put water on land that has no water rights. <br />6. That the residents of the San Luis community were not given adequate notice about the <br />proposed amendment, as BMItI diet not publish the notice in our local newspapers, La <br />Sierra Newspaper and the Costilla County Free Press. <br />7. Hearings that may be scheduled in Denver. Demrer is tea far for many interested <br />camrnuriity members to travel and therefore is not an appropriate location to hold <br />hearings that pertain to the future of the San Luis community and. its residents. We <br />respectfully requests all public hearings to be held in San Luis to allow a fair opportunity <br />for community members to have first-hand information of the proceedings. <br />8, Battle Mountain Gold's claim that. the West Pit water is now of pre-mining quality. <br />We invite Battle Mountain.
