Completion of a SWMP: <br />Provided as Attached. <br />Stormwater Management Plan - J Birds Mine (DBMS Mine Permit No.M-2005-050) <br />The following Stormwater management plan (SWMP) follows the current State of Colorado, General <br />Permit Application and Stormwater Management Plan Guidance for Stormwater Discharges Associated <br />with Metal Mining (and some Coal Mining) with SWMP requirements outlined within Appendix B <br />provided at: http•//www cdphe state co us/wa/PermitsUnit/stormwater/SWMetalPermit.ndf. All <br />recommended components of the guidance are provided by Section within this document. This SWMP is <br />a plan to reduce or eliminate pollution and/or sedimentation which might occur during precipitation <br />runoff brought about by rapidly melting snows or thunderstorm activity. <br />The J Birds Mine (the mine) owned by Bluerock Energy Corp. (BEC) is located in Montrose County, <br />Colorado in the W '/2 SW '/4 of Section 13, Township 47 North, Range 20 West. The mine is located <br />approximately 5 miles southwest of the town of Paradox, Colorado along County Road Y-1 within the La <br />Sal Creek drainage. The site is accessed from Colorado State Route 90/ Utah State Route 46 and Wray <br />Mesa Road (approximately 3 miles west of the Colorado/Utah border). The current DBMS reclamation <br />permit boundary occupies 7.5 acres. <br />1. Description of Mining Activities <br />The Mine is an underground uranium ore mining operation and is currently in development. The <br />surrounding area has features remnant of historic uranium mining activity. BEC is in the process <br />of obtaining necessary permits and responding to federal and state stipulations for the completion <br />of exploration and mining activities. The mine is located on two unpatented mining claims. The <br />mine-permitted area is comprised of 7.5 acres. The mine has held a mine reclamation permit with <br />the Colorado Division of Reclamation and Mine Safety since 2007. <br />2. Site Map(s) <br />A site map (Figure 1: Stormwater Best Management Plans - J Birds Mine) is included with this <br />SWMP that depicts a conceptual diagram of the Mine Site with types of deposited materials <br />delineated, site features including access roads, depositional areas, buildings etc. This diagram <br />also summarizes some of the most significant existing and newly placed Stormwater best <br />management practices on site. Approximate overland patterns for Stormwater flow directions are <br />also depicted. Also included is the cross section of the Stormwater containment basin (Figure 2: <br />Cross Section of Stormwater Containment Basin). A description of each feature depicted in <br />Figure 1 is as follows: <br />Historic Vent Depicts the location of a historic ventilation shaft for an adjacent mine. <br />Bluerock Energy Corp.
