Due to recent winter conditions it has been impossible to perform the
required site inspection. Normally this office responds to bond release requests by inspecting within 60 days
and rendering a decision soon thereafter. This letter is to state that the inspection required to be performed by
staff is being postponeli so that ground conditions allow adequate access and observation of the site.
The reasons for postponing the inspection are that full and adequate reclamation must be evident at the site, in
order for this office to approve a bond release. The site will be assessed for proper slope gradients, soil stability
against erosion, adequate revegetation and noxious weed control, as well as removal of all stockpiled material,
debris and equipment. Thank you for providing information on the extensive reclamation activity with your
request.
We will contact you and/or the operator when we have scheduled the release inspection. If you have any
questions, I may be reached at the Division's Durango field office: 701 Camino del Rio, Room 315, Durango,
CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193.
