sediment sump, a truck scale and scale house/office trailer has been set up as shown on
the enclosed Annual Report Map. A portable crusher/screen plant with a 10,000 gallon
diesel tank nearby is also located near the north end of the mining area. The truck scale
and scale house/office trailer is in place as shown. A new large Diamond crusher has
been installed as shown near the southeast corner of the pit area, to crush large rock
encountered in the pit. A wash plant has also been installed in the northeast portion of
the disturbed area. Three settling ponds have also been constructed as shown. The fines
from the settling ponds are allowed to dry on the area immediately north of the plant.
Topsoil is being stockpiled along the perimeter as outlined in the permit. The sediment
pond has also been installed and all topsoil from the excavation has been stockpiles
along the perimeter of the site.
(2) No reclamation could be done in the past year since mining has recently reached the
approximate maximum disturbance of 30 acres. In subsequent years, portions of the
existing disturbance will be reclaimed to offset new disturbance. As soon as this area is
completely mined, the area will be reclaimed.
(3) For the upcoming year, crushing of approximately 100,000 to 120,000 tons will take
place using the portable crushing equipment previously described. The 4.25 acres which
were stripped of topsoil in the past year will be mined in the upcoming year to a
maximum depth of 40 feet, which is the allowed depth of the permit. Two poles of the
above ground power line will be moved to allow full access in the mining area. B&B is
currently working this out with the power company. No new topsoil stripping will take
place in the upcoming year and no new disturbance is planned. All mining and
stockpiling will take place within the disturbed area shown on the Map.
(4) No reclamation is required until mining is completed.
(5) The current contact for this operation is:
Jason Burkey
B&B Excavating, Inc.
PO Box 1729
Edwards, Colorado 81632
Phone # (970) 926-3311
Tax I.D. 84-0601382
Please see attached check for $791.00 for the annual fee.
Sincerely,
Greg Lewicki, P.
