Banks and Gesso, LLC <br />Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />Introduction <br />Although the property within the permit boundary contains approximately 526.70 acres, <br />this mine plan only encompasses 27.71 acres of the total permit area. <br />Natural features are detailed on Exhibit C-1 (Pre-Mining Plan Map - Natural and Man <br />Made Features). Significant factors controlling the development of the mine plan are <br />topography and ephemeral drainageways. <br />Man-made features are virtually nonexistent both within and surrounding the subject <br />property on the north, east, and west sides. The proposed disturbed area has been set <br />back significant distances from the north, east and west permit boundaries. The closest <br />residence, belonging to the owner of the quarry property, is located approximately 3,600 <br />feet from the north permit boundary and approximately one mile from the actual quarry <br />location. To the east, there are residences near Douglas Mountain Drive, the closest <br />being approximately 4,000 feet from the east property boundary and approximately <br />7,000 feet from the quarry proper. To the northeast there are residences approximately <br />3,600 feet from the property line and over 6,000 feet from the quarry proper. <br />Geologic Settinq <br />A review of the geologic maps available for this area indicates that the rock types are all <br />Precambrian crystalline rock. These rocks are very similar to rock being quarried at the <br />Aggregate Industries quarry near Morrison, Colorado and the Lafarge Specification <br />Aggregates quarry near Golden, as well the Frei Quarry in Clear Creek County. <br />Concerning rock type, there are no constraints to placing a quarry on the subject <br />property. See Attachment A for the geologic map of the site. <br />The Blackhawk Fault runs south of the property approximately aligned with Highway <br />119. This fault will have no impact on the project. <br />Planar features in the rock (foliation, lineation, bedding, and mineral alignments) all dip <br />roughly to the north at approximately 50 degrees plus.
