Enviro-Chem Analytical, Inc. Acute Toxicity Testing
685 West Gunnison Avenue, Suite 108 West Elk Mine - April 2008
Grand Junction, CO 81505 Outfall 001 2 Species
Results
Effluent Chemistry Results
Table 1 contains the arrival chemistry values obtained for the sample. Effluent
sample arrival temperatures was 1.0 C. Total ammonia concentration was below
detection (<1.0 mg/L). The total residual chlorine was below detection (<0.02
mg/L).
Tables 2 and 3 contain the routine chemistry results obtained during the toxicity
tests. All pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and temperature values were
within acceptable ranges.
Effluent Toxicity Resufts for Fathead Minnows
Table 4 contains the survival results for the fathead minnow effluent test.
Control organism survival (100%) met the minimum performance requirement.
Acute survival results show that all effluent dilutions supported mean survival of
100%. The undiluted effluent supported mean survival of 100%.
The LC50 was >100%.
Effluent Toxicity Resufts for Daphnia magna
Table 5 summarizes the survival results for the Daphnia magna test. The acute
results show control organism survival met minimum performance requirements.
The MHW control exposure supported 100% survival. The effluent
concentrations all supported survivals of 100%.
The LC50 was >100%.
5
