ANNUAL REPORT
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County
Location: Glen's Pit
File Number: M-2005-075
Anniversary Date: May 31, 2008
This location had activity throughout the year. This location serves as a main source of
aggregates for United Companies in the Rifle area. As you will see by the map the
current mining area has expanded to the west. A portable crusher operated here
approximately once each quarter of the year producing asphalt and redi-mix aggregates.
Weed management takes place on a twice a year basis. The east side of the pit has been
backfilled. This dirt will be used for perimeter slope grading once the pit is mined out
and full reclamation efforts begin. Stormwater management is satisfactory as all runoff is
contained within the pit itself. Some tamarisk and Russian Olive trees have been pulled
out. The settling pond is satisfactory for pit discharge water. Discharge water quality is
well within specs.
Sincerely,

Justin Aubert
Resource / Environmental Manager
