This corrective action plan provides a solution for the first problem <br />listed in your inspection. The second problem you noted will be addressed separately. <br />There are two maps attached to show before and after phases of the corrective action plan. The "Before" <br />map shows where the temporary topsoil and overburden stockpiles are currently located in the Golden <br />Phase. The "After" map shows where we will be removing portions of the temporary topsoil and <br />overburden stockpiles in the Golden Phase. <br />With the removal of the portions shown, all of the temporarily stockpiled materials closest to the South <br />Platte River will be removed and therefore not present to impede any possible 2008 floodwaters. The <br />remaining temporary piles will then be separated by large gaps, as shown on the "After" map. The new <br />configuration of temporary stockpiles will allow any 2008 floodwaters to flow around the remaining piles <br />and through the gaps without affecting the routing of the floodwater flow. Please note: the remaining piles <br />and the edge of the Golden Phase are located approximately ten (10) or more feet higher in elevation <br />than the elevation of the South Platte River bank. <br />We will do our best to remove the portions shown in the "After" map by April 1, 2008. As you know, all <br />work at mine sites is weather-dependent, so if we get a typically-Colorado huge snowstorm in later March, <br />we will finish the removal work as soon as the weather allows us. Once the material is removed as per <br />the "After" map, we will submit photographs as you requested for documentation of corrective action plan <br />implementation.
