(Page 3)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1987-013
INSPECTION DATE 6/10/08 I1NSPECTOR'S INITIALS RCO
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was performed by the Division as part of its monitoring of Construction Materials 110 permits. The
operator was contacted about the scheduled inspection, but was unable to be present for, it. There was no activity at
the site during the inspection.
The required permit ID sign and corner markers were observed. There was no equipment present. The site is orderly,
with no debris, contaminants or noxious weeds present.
There appears to have been little activity at the site since the Division's last inspection (11!/15/02), other than possible
removal of stockpiled material or broken rock from the benches. The large stockpiles of fnes and crushed gravel east
of the extraction area exhibit vegetated surfaces, indicating that they have been present there for many years. The
fines are there for later use as growth medium for reclamation, and the operator must ensure that the fines do not
become weed-infested. There are stockpiled boulders, up to about 4 ft in size, piled near the lower margin of the
extraction area.
i
The footprint of the disturbed area has not increased beyond its formerly-observed size, and all activity is inside the
permit boundary. The bond has not been recalculated in 6 years, and though the size of th'e reclamation tasks has not
grown, the reclamation costs have increased enough to require the recalculation of the bond amount. The new figures
will be sent soon to the operator under separate cover. (The operator is reminded that any bond increase must be
submitted within 60 days after the date of the notice.)
There were no further items observed and no problems noted.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to this inspector, at:
i
Divi
Please note:
1
3, Unit A-2
Please revise Your records as necessary.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Ralph Martinez
OPERATOR Southway Construction Co Inc
STREET 117 White Pine Dr.
CITY/STATE/ZIP Alamosa, CO 81101
cc:
Tony Waldron, DRMS
?
