(NOTE that the
other sections of Task 2; "General Description, Materials, Testing, Safety" have not been
changed.)
Installation Specifications
Backfill materials will be introduced into the feature in stages in order to construct the closure:
The first stage will involve introduction of fly ash grout into the vents located adjacent to the
west wall of the feature. Fly ash grout will be introduced into these vents to refusal. It is
estimated that fifteen cubic yards (15 yd3) of grout will be consumed in this first stage. Filling of
the vents to refusal will result in solidified fly ash grout being present at the top of the vents
within the feature.
The second stage of fly ash grout introduction will fill the depression which exists immediately
overlying the top of the vents within the feature, and adjacent to the west wall of the feature.
This depression measures eight feet (8')by fourteen feet (14')by four feet (4') in depth. The
estimated volume of fly ash grout to be introduced into the depression is seventeen cubic yards
(17 yd3)•
