sl,
i
rti.
71
2.0 PERMIT MODIFICATIONS
During the current reporting period, July 13, 2007 - July 12, 2008, American Soda
submitted Amendment No. 1 (AM-01). The Amendment is currently in preliminary
adequacy review status. No requests for Technical Revision to 112 Permit No. M-1999-
002 were submitted during the report period.
Amendment No. 1 seeks to change the post mining land use of several areas of the
Piceance site that were sold in 2005. These areas, primarily associated with the former
American Soda initial processing plant, were transferred for oil and gas related
development. The post mining land use for these areas is being converted to industrial.
The goal is to eventually remove these areas from the reclamation plan for American
Soda. The map on page 3 summarizes the areas included in Amendment No. 1.
American Soda, L.L.P
DRMS Annual Report
July 10. 2008
Photo 1 - Yankee Gulch provides habitat to several species of birds and mammals.
